Default Will we have The Dragon Festival 2007?

Do we know if this is happening?

Have to say i really enjoy the dragon festival - it was my first GuildWars event with my main character. The mini games, presents etc is awesome.

Hope it is coming!

(edit title might be misleading - apologies as i can't seem to get it to update to match what i have put as the title)

This was asked in Q&A and someone said Anet said it wont happen then brilliantly failed to name his source
I hope the Annual Dragon Festival is back this year too as i love festivals
Everyone said in the other thread "do we want an AFK event?" but festivals offer more than AFK lucky farming to some people and i enjoy the whole atmoshere, doing the new quests with guild-mates and just having a good time

I believe Gaile mentioned in another topic that something 'dragony' was coming, but that it wasn't the dragon festival. Devs are too busy I think.

Nope, there won't be any this year just something 'dragon-ish' according to Gaile, not sure why it's been cancelled, I loved that festival

No event? Awesome. I hate those stupid events. It puts heaps of stress on the servers, and makes me lag when I'm playing the game. Just so a few people can get free ale...woo. Oh and Lucky/Unlucky points, almost forgot about those. :|

fenix, i assue you ignored my post

Big events like the Dragon Festival mean more to some people than AFK lucky and free ale
These events can keep activity up - I have seen people on guild window that haven't signed in for weeks that come back for a big event
Events are a time when new things are introduced and you can explore them (doing quests and festival games) with friends - biggest reason i'm looking forward to GWEN is the new adventure and discovering the new areas with friends
Some people see festivals as nothing more than AFK lucky farms and thats your loss but personally i find them a breath of fresh air while waiting for the next big update

How dare they! The nerve of all those people trying to play a game for which they've paid! How dare they try to make time to enjoy the game a little! Don't they know that they are affecting MY play experience? I'm lagging, for god sakes! They should just give money to ArenaNet so ArenaNet could buy more servers and then proceed to stay off it. After all, getting low pings for me is much more important than casual players trying to get in some game time.

/end sarcasm

Now now, everybody's entitled to their own opinion - no matter how wrong they are - lol
